TO CUPID OR NOT TO CUPID?

January 31, 2013

How do you guys feel about Valentine's Day?

I'm pretty ambivalent. We don't go all out for it around here. I much prefer just-because flowers. We usually cook a nice dinner at home...something a little more luxe than our everyday meals, like lobster and eat our weight in dessert.

But if I can use a holiday to treat myself to a new candle or a little Tibi, why not? I love this little arrow bracelet too, for wearing daily well after the holiday.

  1. That heart top is so pretty! I love heart-themed things year round, but V-day makes it acceptable for me to wear them~

  5. I'm kind of indifferent to Valentine's Day. I'm not indifferent to that gilded arrow bangle, though. I've been wearing mine non-stop! ;)

  6. We don't really go all out either- our six month wedding anniversary was on the 13th last year, and it was so sleepy at the restaurant that I think we're going to make going out to dinner on the day before our new tradition (and yeah- we're one of those dorky couples who likes to do more than just the one year anniversary, haha) I don't remember what we did on the actual day last year, but I like your idea of cooking something a little special!

  7. Eh, I don't know what to think about Valentine's day. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. It's whatever.

  8. I don't think we're going to do anything super major for it...but I am sending out Valentine's cards to my friends, and I love little heart-related things, so this time of year is always kind of fun!

  12. That's basically why we don't! How is a rushed prix fixe menu romantic?!

  13. It's so much more fun to spend time together cooking a special meal than crammed in a restaurant eating a forced prix fixe that's rushed! I think your tradition is really cute :)

  14. I have several of those rings in different colors. They're so fun to stack!

  15. I love the black & white version, too. I think you could wear that all year long!

  16. I love the idea of Valentine's, but we don't usually do much special celebrating. I think this year we are going to go to a hockey game and eat our weight in nacho cheese covered corn dogs! I wouldn't mind finding that heart tank at the end of the night thought!

  17. LOVE those pink flats, and that heart tank is the cutest! I'm kind of ambivalent about it too...and love the idea of staying in, cooking something delish and sharing a bottle of wine :)
