YOU'RE INVITED
May 27, 2013
By now, y'all know how much love I have for Poshmark, right?
That's why I'm super excited to be co-hosting their LIVE "City Chic" party, right here in San Francisco! If you're local, I hope you'll join us. Make sure to RSVP to rsvp@poshmark.com no later than May 28th.
The best part about Posh Parties? You can shop them from within the app! So if you're not local, you can still join in on the fun.
Poshmark's a free, easy to download iPhone app that lets you easily buy and sell clothes, at major discounts. I picked up a Marc by Marc Jacobs bag and Rebecca Minkoff satchel at less than 50% of the original retail price! Sold? Good!
Download the app and enter code HPECX when you sign up to get a free $5 shopping credit.
Please let me know if you'll be stopping by! I would love to meet you!
A LITTLE THOUGHT
January 9, 2013
Welcome to 2013. I realize we're 9 days in, but since I'm just now returning from my holiday travels, today is the day my New Year feels like it's officially begun.
When I sat down to think about my goals this year, one word was consistent across many of them.
Simplify.
As a creative individual, I'm wired to just go, go, go, and be doing, doing, doing. All of this has it perks, but at the end of the day, does it leave me fulfilled?
Mostly, no.
In 2013, I've resolved to simplify all aspects of my life. Wardrobe, diet, home, job; it's all up for examination.
It means saying yes to projects that make me excited, and finding ways to create more of those opportunities.
It means finally being okay with only liking a limited color palette in my wardrobe - with plenty of silhouettes and textures to keep it interesting.
It means having one amazing vase instead of ten so-so options.
The easiest place for me to start is, naturally, my wardrobe. When you're traveling, I think you really learn what you need, and what you don't need. Since I spent the last month living out of a suitcase, returning home has provided me with a much needed reality check. Though I've already cleaned out my closet, I plan to shed even more. And that hall closet and all of the nooks and crannies in this place will be examined, too. The tides are shifting a bit, and I think we're all coming to realize we can do more with less.
How's your 2013 shaping up?
PS, if you're looking for a good way to simplify your closet, try selling on Poshmark! It's free to download and easy to sell your old clothes to make money. I'm hosting another party in the app tonight at 7:00 PM PST. See you there?
BOLD BAUBLES
September 5, 2012
It's no secret I love a big, chunky piece of jewelry. Nothing spices up a basic t-shirt or little black dress than a huge statement necklace or show-stopping cuff. My very first "special" piece that I invested in was the now iconic and much copied J.Crew bubble necklace when it was first released in Spring of 2009. I did a cost per wear analysis and figured it was worth the investment. How true that turned out to be - it's the most worn piece of jewelry in my closet! And it never fails to draw compliments - and let's face it - who doesn't like being a head turner?
Tonight, from 7-9 PM, I'm hosting the "Bold Baubles & Accessories" party in the Poshmark app! If you're looking for a special piece at a discount, this is the place to be. It's super easy to shop, too. Just download the app to your iPhone, sign up (psst...use code HPECX when signing up for a free $5 credit!), go to the parties section, and then shop to your heart's content. And if you just want to browse, you can check out my closet.
So what do you say? Do you prefer your jewelry bold or dainty?
