THREE THINGS

February 25, 2013

ONE  |  This leather jacket is lust worthy from first glance. While it being part of The Man Repeller x PJK Patterson J. Kincaid collaboration might be reason enough alone to purchase, it's also a highly versatile piece for the investment. You can wear it with the leather peplum attached over a fitted dress, or zip off the peplum for a casual moto jacket. Two looks in one = piece you'll keep for life.

TWO  |  While I love NARS makeup, I've never tried any of their skincare until last week. I've been using the Lightening Cream to combat some sun damage from my careless teenage years that's recently appeared on my face, and after one week I'm already impressed with the results. The cream also makes my skin feel super soft. The Total Replenishing Eye Cream is another favorite, thick enough to moisturize and tighten, but light enough to keep your concealer in place.

THREE  |  I bought these DV Dolce Vita Java boots after seeing them on another blogger, and I am in love. Around San Francisco, you can never have too many pairs of walkable, closed toe shoes. These are not only comfy, but the styling reminds me of this more expensive pair, for a quarter of the price. (PS - More sizes here.)

  1. Wait, NARS skin? How did I not know this existed? I might have to try out a product or two!

  2. Dangit, those shoes aren't left in my size anymore. Sad times. Great "loves" collection. I loves it too. :)

  3. Check around! What size do you wear? I'll keep my eyes peeled!

  4. I knew it existed but I always think when makeup companies do skincare lines it can't be that good. You can only be really exceptional at one thing, right? I am delightfully proven wrong!

  5. I'm an 8. And yes, I'll keep trolling around. Thanks!

  8. I haven't tried NARS yet either, I need to get in the loop! And I love DV shoes, have a great pair of "hostess flats" that I wear during dinner parties.

  9. That's on next week's list, but since you asked : http://ow.ly/i2eEs Honestly, I couldn't tell a huge difference just looking in the mirror, other than it set my concealer and foundation and seemed softly finished. When I noticed the magic is the photograph I took of myself.

  10. I suppose I just always forget about DV and tend to purchase my "go-to" brands. They have some great options, especially in boots!

  11. at first I was like "ooooh, peplum leather jacket? Not sure about that" BUT ZIP OFF? genius. that really would be a work horse!

  12. Right?! I am debating devoting 2 months of my clothing budget to it. I know it's a big expense up front, but I would wear the moto version, at minimum, twice a week. The peplum part is just a fun plus.

  13. That leather jacket is pretty amazing - I might just have to make that mine! I love those DV boots too - they're super comfortable!!

  19. Totally agree! I fell hard for the NARS skincare. Now you've made me really want to try their Lightening Cream - darn hyperpigmentation :)

  20. Wait, your name is Lauren and you live in San Francisco? We need to meet up!

  21. I never got into ankle boots until I moved here, and they are just so freaking practical. I now have 4 pairs and I have my eye on at least 4 more!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'm not sure it's in mine either, but I love the idea of two pieces in one, that you could wear tons of ways!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'm worried the lightening cream might be discontinued...I can't find it on their actual site, only on a few other sites. I am debating hoarding it, if that's the case.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I am pretty sold on the jacket - just need to work it into the budget!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I love that jacket, so so much!!! Gotta try NARS' skincare line... it looks good.

  29. Aren't they so comfy, too?! I walked all over the city in them on the first day with no break in.

  30. Me too. I keep debating on getting it since Shopbop's having their big sale!

  32. i bought a pair of booties that are similar, except they were on clearance from steve madden. super comfy and i can walk around in sf all day wearing them!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I feel like any time I see a pair that's around that height and shape, and they're a good deal...I purchase them! I have so many slightly similar pairs, but they all get worn since they're so practical here!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hah, I debated the same, but I ended up grabbing them and not regretting it one bit :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. I have that exact pair of boots (I was able to stack some coupons so I got them on a good deal from ae) and I have worn those to death this winter! I've been so impressed with how comfortable they are and even after me walking around in the snow and rain in them, they're still in good condition. They're adorable and they straps on them actually adjust so you can move them around and play with the placement a little.
